About the team:
The middleware engineering team creates and maintains build/automation standards for middleware components used in the Merchant Solutions applications. The list includes apache tomcat, apache web server, IBM WebSphere, and Oracle WebLogic servers. We are continually innovating in the area of build automation and support. The services we provide include supporting the application development teams launching new products using the middleware technologies we support, EOL management, vulnerability and license management for middleware components. We are a self-motivated self-driven team working in a highly dynamic environment.
What you will be doing:
Act as a level 2 engineer for the Middleware environments. Manage the design, maintenance, problem resolution, and troubleshooting of the Middleware technologies. Role is responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of complex web and middleware infrastructure. Work with application development groups to tune and troubleshoot their applications within the standard middleware environment. Work with other middleware tools for troubleshooting, integration and operational readiness.
What you bring:
Responsible for the configuration, maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting of the web services and middleware suite (IBM MQ, IHS, WebSphere, Apache Tomcat, Apache Web, Apache Kafka and Oracle WebLogic).
Provide web middleware & three-tier architecture expertise to assist in delivering solution architectures for integration projects.
Shell scripting experience.
Serves as technical point of contact for group's technical support analysts.
Plans, organizes and coordinates infrastructure (web and middleware) projects of a moderate to high level of complexity.
Advises on and resolves issues that may occur within middleware services.
Develop application and operational processes needed to model, integrate, automate and manage efficient and flexible business processes.
Create and update system documentation
Acts as a liaison with application teams and infrastructure teams to define requirements and/or determination of problems.
Off-hours support and on-call rotation required
Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
Added bonus if you have:
Linux Server administration experience.
