Who we are looking for;
The Director of Site Reliability Engineering is responsible for improving production operations and availability of all Infrastructure platforms and components. They will be responsible for the Software Operations/Cloud Engineering teams across all infrastructure technology domains with a burning focus on availability, productivity and efficiency through automation and instrumentation.
Here’s an overview of the responsibilities & challenges ahead;
- Lead the transformation of your assigned teams within Software Operations into a high performing Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) organization
- Establish a SRE-minded culture within Software Operations and LogRhythm as a whole
- Drive and influence operational consistency (process, tooling, automation, and methodology) within LogRhythm, and across the Engineering and Software Operations teams
- Partner with Engineering team leadership to influence and drive priority on availability and resiliency (ensure NFRs are being addressed)
- Create passion in this team and across LogRhythm around a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and engagement
- Deliver on key commitments
Required Skills & Responsibilities
- Build and manage globally distributed teams to operate a large-scale SaaS platform
- Set standards and provide requirements for engineering teams to deliver ops-ready software
- Understand hardware systems, scaling and benchmarking hardware platforms for scalability
- Demonstrated success leading Site Reliability and DevOps teams, and influencing senior technology leadership on those practices
- Running and maintaining our production infrastructure hosted on AWS and GCP
- Administration of virtualized platforms on cloud providers, including AWS and GCP (both public and private)
- Results oriented leader who takes the initiative and effectively distills strategy, analytics, and varied sets of input to drive to decisions and follow through to execution
- Strong business influencing skills and able to shape, define and present a complete and thorough picture of LogRhythm’s Operational capabilities, including clear and recurring communication to executive management
- Experience managing highly talented technologists, operators, and software developers
- Experience in successfully leading change through complex environments and organizational structures
- Leverage strategic and analytical capabilities to make sound, timely decisions based on client and field input supporting and maintaining a strong production environment including evaluating risk versus expense versus the client experience
- Able to act decisively in making solid, informed judgment calls
- Proven ability to establish facts-based, data driven key performance indicators, goals, and objectives
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization
- Strong emotional intelligence/maturity and substantial senior level executive presence
- Experienced in effectively assessing, selecting and developing talent for the firm; adept at providing balanced, direct and actionable feedback to employees. Experience managing multiple priorities and overseeing distinct teams with varied strengths
- Thrives on initiating, building and cultivating strong, authentic relationships inside and outside the group; highly collaborative; navigates and activates alignment across organizational boundaries
- A Bachelor’s degree in a technology related field is required; Advanced technology or business degree is preferred
