What you'll do at Markit Digital

Leverage your 7+ years of experience to develop tightly-integrated families of distributed applications for our growing portfolio of digital products

Contribute to a cross-functional team building amazing data-driven services for some of the biggest names in the financial industry

Implement automated unit- and regression-testing frameworks

Build out relational and object-store data structures

Create structured APIs and hooks for systems monitoring and operational support

Manage deployments and updates using automated configuration management and packaging tools

Continuously improve performance, resilience and transparency

Mentor and learn from developers of all levels, evangelizing your knowledge and best practices to colleagues

Required skills

• JavaScript, HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL
• Intermediate to advanced experience developing applications
• Database architecture and administration
• Version-control and release-management tools
• Agile methodologies
• IT Degree or relevant professional experience

• React or Vue, Node.js, API patterns
• Data Science tools and processes
• Deploying applications in a high-volume, high-availability enterprise environment
• Automation of testing, monitoring and alerting dataflows

Where we're going

Hot on the heels of moving our service-oriented architecture to the cloud and automating our deployments and configurations, we're using new tools to rapidly add products and acapabilities. We are always on the lookout for ways to make our services more secure, scalable, and fast. We are continuing to explore our wealth of new data sources outside of the financial markets to pioneer new spaces like virtual and augmented reality, content personalization, and data-driven visualization.
