The Senior Cloud/Systems Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, assessing, and implementing systems, determining problems, providing solutions to issues that arise, and brainstorming improvements for systems in the future. The essential job duties also include working with various departments to manage and develop new systems, analyze data to make improvements and help improve productivity.  Senior Cloud/Systems Engineers must be willing to take ownership of their issues/projects until solved or completed.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor, train and coach other team members throughout the technology departments, including Systems Engineers
  • Plan and implement IT projects for departments across the organization
  • Manage Azure/AWS environment and implement IaC frameworks
  • Support other technology groups and help in the adoption of cloud architectures for existing and new applications
  • Own escalation of support issues by working with the support team to help find solutions and create documentation of processes
  • Use engineering best practices is all aspects of work and promotes this approach throughout the organization
  • Work closely with IT leadership and teammates to solve business problems/opportunities
  • Build automation into projects wherever possible
  • Works with technical project managers to communication progress towards KPIs/MBOs/OKRs
  • Help train employees throughout the company and seek to continually improve processes companywide
  • Deliver excellent customer service by consistently demonstrating a positive attitude, quick responsiveness, effective communication, strong accountability, and collaborative teamwork, each day
  • Willingness to continuously develop new skills

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in Cloud & Systems Engineering/Administration
  • Experience architecting and managing cloud environments (AWS/Azure)
  • Advanced knowledge of Azure Active Directory and associated services (Intune, Autopilot, etc.)
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting
  • Familiarity with IaC and deployment tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef or Puppet
  • Strong understanding of networking principals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Git, Jenkins and DevOps pipelines
  • Experience with Jira Service Management or similar ITSM tools
  • Excellent customer service skills; team oriented
  • Self-motivated; capable of taking initiative, handling and prioritizing multiple competing assignments and being an example for fellow teammates
  • Ability to communicate with less technical users
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills



The pay range for this position in Colorado is $90,000 - $140,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, candidate location, and experience. This role can be located anywhere in the US.
