Reporting directly to the VP of Engineering, you will ensure all development conforms to established Webroot and industry standards. In addition, your insight will be critical ensuring security safeguards are in place to protect the systems, information and assets of the company.

In addition to managing and developing the engineers on your team, the Director of IS will provide input to the overall technical architecture and strategy of the organization, fully participating with peers, teammates and management to ensure technical solutions are of the highest quality and meet business requirements and objectives. In the role you will:

  • Define technical standards and procedures based on the latest and most appropriate technology
  • Develop the strategy and vision of the development and QA teams
  • Perform situation analysis and recommendations for problem solving
  • Conceive solutions, builds consensus, and sells/executes solutions
  • Manage multiple teams in an Agile methodology based environment
  • Recommend appropriate course of action to developers/technicians and management on technical issues
  • Ensure the QA process is effective and builds continuous development improvements based on metrics
  • Identify opportunities to improve current systems, communicates and executes
  • Ensure the effective and efficient integration of all systems to guarantee alignment with disparate platforms and various middleware components.
  • Research and recommend options and opportunities in area(s) of technical expertise, regarding current and future system development tools, design, purchase, deployment, maintenance, and evolution
  • Work to build prototypes as appropriate utilizing current and/or new technologies; demonstrates production viability, cost/benefit
  • Develop skill gap analysis and develops/maintains training plans for development and QA team
  • Ensure appropriate coverage and cross-training of resources so there are no single points of failure
  • Balance team capacity with business needs including break/fix and new features/stories
  • Mentor development and QA managers on leadership, coaching and business acumen

You bring to the table:

  • 5-7 years of management experience
  • 10+ years of experience in development, implementation and maintenance of large-scale enterprise systems across multiple hardware and software platforms
  • Experience integrating Systems, Networks, and Applications across an enterprise
  • Familiarity with Quote-to-cash, ERP and enterprise software architecture
  • Familiarity with systems architecture across Windows, Linux, and Unix platforms
  • Familiarity with network architecture
  • Familiarity with web application architecture
  • Proven experience integrating enterprise software solutions, both new and legacy, and the ability to migrate from legacy environments to current solutions
  • Demonstrated knowledge of various programming languages and development tools, including (but not limited to) Oracle/Microsoft development tools like Java, VB, C++ and/or XML
  • Demonstrated experience in application design and development
  • Demonstrated proficiency and experience in developing against transactional and analytical databases
  • Experience with Oracle Applications and/or Salesforce.com a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or Computer Science required
  • Master’s degree or professional certifications are preferred
