Senior DevOps Engineer
Our dev team is working on problems related to risk stratification, onboarding, logistics, and a real-time marketplace, but we have a 'you build it, you run it' culture so our DevOps team supports developers in that pursuit, but doesn't carry their pagers, and our hours of operation make it less likely you'll get a call at 3am.
While Dispatch is headquartered in Denver, this is a remote-friendly role and we have an unlimited PTO policy that we'll encourage you to use.
In this role, you'll work collaboratively with our development teams to deploy and operate our applications. You will help automate and streamline our operations and processes. You will build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations, as well as troubleshoot and resolve issues in our dev, test and production environments. You are passionate about helping our internal team and our clients.
Responsibilities
- Build, operate, and support highly available, fault tolerant, observable, performant, secure, and scalable platform tools and systems in a microservice environment that enable the DispatchHealth engineering community to do their best work
- Analyze code and design faults to find root causes of errors and assemble systems to pre-empt similar faults in the future
- Apply skills to solve problems with limited direction
- Create solutions that leverage data to support optimal utilization of cloud resources
- Write or refactor testable, readable code with edge cases in mind
- Generate and maintain domain specific documentation and playbooks
- Form solutions that meet all development & security standards
- Rally with teammates when faced with challenges
Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Strong scripting language experience
- Good understanding of linux internals and networking
- Experience with at least one cloud provider: AWS, GCP, Azure
- Experience with automating the build process of complex production environments
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (iaC) in AWS with tools such as: Terraform or CloudFormation
- Solid troubleshooting experience
- Configuration management tools: Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt
- Experience building and working with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as: Jenkins, Gitlab, Github, CircleCI
- Experience with large scale production environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent organization skills, attention to details, ability to independently prioritize tasks
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
Nice to haves:
- AWS Certification
- Familiar with Ruby application development
- Familiar with Aptible saas services
- Experience with DB management (RDS)
Location: Remote
The pay range for this position in Colorado is $160,000 - $190,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, candidate location, and experience.
