Position Summary

 

We are growing fast and need to take our development and release processes to the next level. We are looking for a dynamic Senior DevOps Engineer to be a critical part of the Devops team responsible for our development, testing and production cloud environments. In this role, you’ll work collaboratively with software engineering to deploy and operate our systems, help automate and streamline our operations and processes, build and maintain tools for deployment, and contribute to tool platforms for monitoring and operations. The ideal candidate will be able to troubleshoot and resolve issues using creative problem-solving, and the ability to identify the root cause of problems. This role will act as a mentor to other technical staff provide architectural guidance for infrastructure and application improvements.

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

  • Work closely with development teams to adopt CI and CD best practices to automate system deployment, operability and supportability with Ansible/Rundeck
  • Administer Linux/Ubuntu based servers for mission critical operations
  • Integrate and maintain network management and support applications hosted on Linux/Ubuntu servers
  • Responsible for system performance, maintenance, software integration into a multiplatform cloud/hosting environment
  • Develop and maintain scalable cloud architecture solutions
  • Create and deliver detailed technical documentation and presentations
  • Act as an advisor to product teams on architectural principles, best practices, and design patterns, including providing operational requirement stories to development teams
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and respond to operational incidents and tier 3 escalations
  • Provide hands-on and technical leadership support to drive Cloud Strategy and Operations
  • Direct long and short-term projects for improving the reliability and performance of systems
  • Make recommendations for improvements to current processes and procedures
  • Maintain software patches and upgrades 
  • Maintain user accesses, permissions, security protocols across varied environments
  • Create and Maintain assorted Data replication systems

 

Qualifications

 

  • A BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred
  • 5+ years of Linux Systems Administration experience
  • Experience with configuration management Ansible, etc.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Circle CI, Travis, etc.
  • Proven ability to script using languages like Perl, Bash, Python, PHP
  • Understanding of systems hardening and secure systems configuration
  • Understanding of assorted networking devices/software tools (brocade/cisco etc.)
  • Ability to thrive as an individual or a small team member on projects
  • Experience with regulatory compliance standards (HIPAA/PCI/SEC/FINRA, etc.) preferred
