Senior Developer - Site Reliability Engineering
Xero is a beautiful, easy-to-use platform that helps small businesses and their accounting and bookkeeping advisors grow and thrive.
At Xero, our purpose is to make life better for people in small business, their advisors, and communities around the world. This purpose sits at the centre of everything we do. We support our people to do the best work of their lives so that they can help small businesses succeed through better tools, information and connections. Because when they succeed they make a difference, and when millions of small businesses are making a difference, the world is a more beautiful place.
At Xero, our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams work in two ways. First we develop internal facing products that help other engineering teams operate their systems successfully. Our internal products help by exposing valuable context, by supporting coordination and by making great ownership decisions easier.
Xero SRE also works to directly support teams operating services in production. We do this via on-call escalation and specialist reliability consulting. As a member of an SRE team, you’ll apply your skills to developing great products used by your colleagues across Xero.
You’ll use your experience operating software and services in production environments to help other teams improve their practices and their technical implementations. You’ll build your expertise in complex systems and help others do the same.
As a Senior Engineer on the SRE, you will write great software, deliver great services, and help develop the expertise of your team. You’ll play an important role in shaping the work your team chooses to do, ensuring it is valuable and sustainable. You’ll mentor other engineers and advocate for good practice.
By developing world class tooling and providing real time support, your work will enable product teams to make well informed decisions and deliver great experiences through Xero’s customer facing applications.
You’ll maintain the standard for engineering excellence at Xero and support your team members in building products together. You’ll contribute to our cross functional environment by working towards the same objectives, using modern principles and practices.
You will contribute to our culture focused on continuously improving the operation of Xero’s platform and applications.
