What you’ll do:

As the Salesforce Development & Release Manager at Pinnacol, you play a key part in realizing our mission to provide customers with tools they love. Leverage your passion for technology, Salesforce, and creative ideas to develop amazing products for our customers and help define the vision, capabilities, and roadmap for our systems. You will lead a team of like-minded individuals by working with, directing, and supporting their efforts to deliver valuable products for our customers. This role has a wide variety of responsibilities, and in this environment you can expect this role to grow and evolve - sometimes on a daily basis.

What you can expect:

Software Development (50%)

  • Provide innovative solutions leveraging Salesforce, modern web tools and release management techniques enhancing our platform capabilities and make recommendations to support a rapidly growing user base
  • Implement best practices by developing, refining, iterating, integrating, testing, staging and deploying maintainable technical solutions
  • Use analytical skills and judgement to solve problems and make decisions in a rapidly changing environment
  • Communicate complicated problems to team members to ensure we are coming up with the right technical solutions
  • Accountable for effectively leading, communicating and managing technical impacts including development patterns, processes, and releases.
  • Remain current on the external environment for industry leading tools, technology, analytics and best practices to continuously improve Pinnacol's customer value proposition
  • Manage the continuous deployment of our Salesforce platform by removing barriers to development, improving our release process, and writing code to increase the overall team velocity.

 Team Management (50%)

  • Responsible for all management functions with direct reports including hiring, performance management, timekeeping, expense report approval, etc. for the Salesforce development team.
  • Responsible for providing effective performance feedback to direct reports by establishing clear goals and expectations, including adherence to standards; hold reports accountable for results
  • Provide leadership, direction, coaching and development of promoting teamwork and cooperation within team and throughout the organization

 Additional responsibilities:

  • Expand and improve personal knowledge in the area of software development best practices
  • Communicate and partner effectively with a variety of team members across the team
  • Work with the Quality & Compliance Manager to thoroughly test and sign off on system changes and enhancements, and proactively identify potential problems in our collection of applications
  • Monitor and analyze business results and reports, and identify areas for improvement
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What you’ll bring to the table:

The ideal candidate would possess the following skills and characteristics:

  • Strong technical aptitude within the Salesforce ecosystem, including experience developing on the platform
  • Experience and knowledge of DevOps standards, including source control tools, CI/CD, and an overall ability to drive the software development life cycle
  • Willingness to jump in and help team members. No task is too big or too small.
  • Adaptability, flexibility and resourcefulness
  • Willingness to speak up, ask questions, offer feedback and suggestions to fellow team members
  • Able to prioritize and manage work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Be able to work with little direction and are okay with ambiguity as the projects may be changing

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred. Relevant work experience (similar kind of work at a similar level of work as described in the essential duties) may be substituted for the bachelor's degree. Completion of a degree is encouraged and supported
  • Salesforce experience, ideally with a focus on CI/CD
  • Experience managing teams, and providing leadership direction in an effort to promote collaborative work environment
  • Must be flexible, innovative, and have ability to perform in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to clearly communicate in writing and verbally with all levels of individuals both internally and externally

If you decide to come into the office, we’re just seven miles from downtown Denver, in the heart of the Lowry neighborhood. Our office is minutes away from a variety of restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, fitness facilities and lush parks and open spaces.
