Recently acquired by Amazon, Canvas Technology develops autonomous systems to improve Amazon’s delivery process. State-of-the-art software, cameras, and sensors, allow Canvas systems to ‘see’ and identify objects, people, vehicles, and places to react safely and intelligently. We are a team of doers that apply advanced robotics to solve real-world challenges that transform our customers’ experience.

Canvas has an opening for a Senior Systems Engineer to help design and deliver autonomous robotics workcells to Amazon’s operations network. The successful candidate will have a passion for creating high-performance physical systems, a strong technical problem solving ability, excellent project management skills, the ability to effectively communicate with and influence decision-makers at all levels and an internal motivation to deliver results in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment. Responsibilities:
• Evaluate and create optimal process flows for new autonomous systems in the field.
• Identify and analyze key operational and financial metrics in order to drive product/program decisions.
• Coordinate with systems and operations engineering teams to develop product features and optimize performance.
• Manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and effectively influence, negotiate, and communicate with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.
• Develop models as required to solve complex problems.

Travel to corporate and operations sites will be required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations, or a related field + 3 years of experience with increasing responsibility.
· 3+ years of experience as an industrial engineer, process engineer, systems engineer, manufacturing engineer, project manager or related occupation.
· Experience with data analytics tools (SQL, Excel, Tableau, Python etc) and system modeling.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience working with the designs of complex systems including robotics and high-speed manufacturing.
· Demonstrated use of analytical skills to solve complex engineering problems.
· Experience with process design based on Lean Principles.
· Familiarity with modeling and simulation techniques such as Systems Dynamics, Monte Carlo, etc
