Robot Field Technician

AMP Robotics is looking for a Robot Field Technician to join our team and serve as a front-line representative for AMP to make sure our robots are always running. This role will be responsible for performing services, (preventative maintenance, repairs, safety checks, corrective actions, upgrades and refurbishment) on robots at various customer sites as well as helping develop customer relations.
Responsibilities
- Monitor production systems, troubleshoot problems, resolve or escalate.
- Be present at installs to configure, calibrate, and commission new systems.
- Travel to site/s to troubleshoot problems, perform hardware, electrical, and software changes (replace network cables, debug loose connections, swap out components on PC’s and PLCs).
- Assist the hardware team with robot builds and prototyping.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, report, plan, and conduct service or repair of a growing fleet of robots as instructed by engineering and operations managers.
- Stay up to date with technical details, repair methods, and specifications.
- Work with the Customer Success team to maintain customer satisfaction.
- Make judgement calls about the most effective and efficient approach to providing service.
- Create your own schedule to best suit the logistical support and maintenance of robots.
Requirements
- Nights and weekends on-call and on-site response
- Possibility of working holidays
- Travel required: ~20% initially, increasing to ~50% over time
Bonus Points
- Experience working with electronics, automation, or mechanical assembly
- Experience with Linux command line and building computers
- Experience programming
- CAD Experience
- Machine shop and power tool experience
