The Quality Assurance Engineer – Automated and Manual Testing, will work on a team responsible for full lifecycle testing of ZOLL’s RescueNet ePCR Enterprise application.  RNePCR is a patient charting application used by first responders who respond to medical call and/or transport patients to medical facilities.  In this role, this individual will help to develop frameworks, processes and procedures to further the company’s capabilities in automated testing and to help to move the company from a manual testing to an automated testing environment. When needed this person will conduct manual testing to contribute to the products success and meet release cycle deadlines. 

 

Responsibilities

  • The ideal candidate will have experience with the full spectrum of software quality practices for agile/ scrum teams, including: Manual software testing; Automated functional testing using TestComplete, Selenium or similar test automation tools; Automated functional testing using code developed by you using the .Net Framework; Management of automated test suites for continuous integration & continuous regression testing, as well as for build smoke testing; Monitoring & communication of all test results, including rapid reporting to engineering and collaboration on trouble-shooting, resolution, and re-testing.
  • Read and interpret functional (marketing) and technical (development) specifications and develop comprehensive test plans designed to perform functional and load testing.
  • Lead the design and building of a robust automation framework for RNePCR using best practices and methodologies to continuously improve
  • Ability to evaluate the current set of testing tools and practices and work collaboratively with other automation test engineers to make recommendations on the selection and use of tools and best practices for automation.
  • Drive the implementation of automated testing by bringing a pragmatic approach to helping the organization transition from manual testing to automated testing.
  • Design, develop, and troubleshoot automated test scripts to validate, the technical and functional integrity of Windows and web based components.  Ensure that tests are stable and easily maintainable.  
  • Configure and troubleshoot test environments including Microsoft servers, Microsoft client applications, web browsers, MS SQL, and application installations.
  • Ability to test .Net based libraries/APIs.
  • Collaborate as a member of a highly functional R&D team to perform testing on multiple applications.
  • Adhere to professional standards regarding documentation, project management, quality, communication, and teamwork.
  • Lead the team in the creation and maintenance of  test requirements
  • Fully contribute to product development as part of an Agile Scrum team

 

Desired Experience and/or aptitude:

  • UI testing using multiple technologies and tools, preferably TestComplete.
  • Experience with performance testing is desired but not required.
  • Manual and automated testing experience in a software development organization.
  • Ability to setup and utilize virtual environments to aid in testing (VMWare, Microsoft Hypervisor, Azure, AWS, etc.).
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and building automation frameworks
  • Experience using scripting languages such as JavaScript
  • Desired – experience working with off shore development teams
  • Desired - Experience automating a windows application
  • Preferred - Experience writing tests for service-oriented architecture


Requirements:

  • Proactive and self-motivated with a strong attention to detail.
  • A team player with a great attitude and a sense of humor.
  • The ability and drive to mentor a team that is eager to transition from largely manual methodologies to predominantly automated methodologies.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science highly desirable.
  • Strong communications and networking skills are highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server including the ability to write scripts and stored procedures.
  • ASTQB/ISTQB CTFL certification is highly desirable.
  • Ability to contribute to project success by transitioning from automated to manual testing as needed
