Role

GigSmart’s QA engineers play an important part in our company’s product development process. The QA Engineer will perform manual testing before product launches to ensure our software runs smoothly and meets client needs. They will develop and execute exploratory and regression tests to ensure product quality. This position requires heavy manual testing. We are looking for someone who is excited to tap glass each day to solve unique software problems.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct manual testing of our mobile applications throughout the software development life cycle
  • Manage bug list and effectively estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities for release cycle planning
  • Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases; analyze results
  • Implement processes, practices, and tools that are efficient, flexible and consistent and allow for clear action items
  • Produce and present weekly defect reports for broader audiences
  • Lead software gate reviews from development onto Product Owner
  • Uncover risks and obstacles to the development team
  • Identify, record, thoroughly document and track bugs
  • Monitor debugging process results
  • Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
  • Evaluate product code according to specifications
  • Help troubleshoot issues and train users to implement solutions
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development life cycle

    Skills and Competencies:

    • Proven work experience in software quality assurance
    • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
    • Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
    • Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
    • Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus

      Educational and Professional Requirements:

      • 2+ years of Agile/ Scrum Software Development
      • Mobile, web or other software QA testing experience preferred
      • Worked with both remote and local teams in conjunction
      • Experience in all aspects of QA from test case development to manual regression device testing
