Description

Envysion, a leading provider of video-based SaaS technology solutions for retailers, fast casual restaurants and wireless dealers, is looking for a QA Engineer. This role is passionate about ensuring the Envysion platform can exceed customer expectations. Success in this role is measured by the ability to proactive thwart customer found defects and inject quality efficiencies into Software Test Life Cycles (STLC) and Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC). 

Core Functions:

• Become an expert in how Enysion’s platform operates, including understanding system dependencies.
• Execute different types of testing to ensure functionality, performance, usability, and hardware/software compatibility.
• Create, maintain, and report on test suite progress and results utilizing a myriad of different environment configurations.
• Continually optimize and grow testing to improve quality and find efficiencies.
• Provide rapid feedback and drive resolution of defects, including root causes, severities and priorities.
• Collaborate with other QA team members to plan for and maximize test coverage.
• Actively participant in a fast-paced agile environment, tightly collaborating with Technology, Product, and Engineering teams, as well as Release and Change Management processes.
• Understand various customer personas that model Envysion’s production platform usage and translate into test suites while integrating with crucial technical knowledge.
• Review defects that escaped to the field to understand if and how they could have been prevented or detected.
• Participate in the continuous improvement of products and services by inherently looking for and providing recommendations to stakeholders.

Competencies and Skills:

• Quality Assurance and Testing experience in cross-browser, desktop and mobile operating systems (bonus for experience in video HTTP-Live-Streaming (HLS) technology)
• Familiarity using UNIX/Linux for basic shell navigation and file manipulation, as well as in database technologies using relational SQL queries 
• Experience with agile lifecycle (Jira) and test case management tools
• Effective at articulating (written and verbal) complex ideas and issues
• Highly detailed, analytical and assertive - seeks the “Why”, looks for patterns and things that stand out, yet is passionate about understanding “The Big Picture”

• Self-motivated - can dive in to quickly learn and is able to use independent judgement
• Bonus: Any familiarity with using open-source test automation platforms and/or REST clients for API testing

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant experience in Information Technology field
• 3+ years in software quality assurance testing industry, preferably in an agile environment
