Description
Envysion, a leading provider of video-based SaaS technology solutions for retailers, including fast casual restaurants, convenience stores and wireless dealers, is seeking a QA Engineer. The QA Engineer, you will ensure the Envysion platform can meet and exceed customer expectations. You will become a subject matter expert in product functionality, test the system thoroughly, and relentlessly protect the customer experience. You will help develop and execute methods and processes to ensure continuous improvement to quality. Success in this role is measured by the ability to proactive thwart customer found defects and ability to inject quality efficiencies into the STLC and SDLC.
Core Functions
- Be the resident subject matter expert in how the software platform operates, including understanding system dependencies
- Develop, maintain, and execute test suites
- Optimize testing to improve quality, find efficiencies and reduce cost
- Collaborate to own, grow, & continually improve the evolution of testing strategies
- Coordinate with Release and Change Management processes
- Provide rapid feedback of found defects
- Understand and maintain customer personas and end-to-end use cases that model production platform usage and translate into test suites while integrating with crucial technical knowledge
- Collaborate daily with technology and engineering teams
- Actively participant in a fluid and collaborative fast-paced agile (kanban) environment
- Communicate, document, and report on progress, test results, issues/defects and other relevant information
- Could work to introduce and create test automation where needed and partner with development to do so
Required Skills:
- Testing experience in cross browser, different desktop and mobile operating systems (iOS, Android)
- Highly analytical - you look for patterns, things that stand out, etc., yet are passionate about understanding “The Big Picture”
- Highly detailed - you are always seeking to understand the “Why” and don’t stop until you have clear understanding
- Experience with agile lifecycle management tracking tool (we use Jira) and test case management tools
- Excellent communicator (written and verbal) with ability to clearly articulate complex issues
- Working experience with UNIX/Linux for basic shell navigation and file manipulation
- Working experience of database technologies using relational SQL queries (we use MySQL)
- Cultivate and disseminate commonly used QA best practices and procedures
- Commitment to enabling rapid releases with high quality while working side-by-side with development

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology field working with software
- Minimum of 5+ years in software quality assurance testing industry, preferably in an agile environment
Nice to Have:
- Experience testing web-based video technology, including HTTP-Live-Streaming (HLS)
- Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI/CD) Lifecycles and the specific Development and Testing challenges inherent to that approach
- Experience in service layer testing concepts and resource-oriented architectures (can utilize REST clients in Postman, etc.)
- Hands on experience with open-source test tools and test automation platforms (i.e. FitNesse, SOAPUI, Selenium, Cypress)
- Any scripting and/or programming language experiences or familiarity with some or all of our technical stack:
- Javascript/NodeJs
- Jenkins, Bitbucket, Jira, JUnit, MySql
- AWS, CentOS, Docker Swarm
