QA Engineer (Mid-Level)

In small, agile teams, you will learn or enrich existing knowledge of application testing. You will gain insight into how applications are developed, deployed, and maintained in different environments, and how you can test and fortify them. You will gain a deeper understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle. And most importantly, you will have the opportunity to broaden your skills by exploring numerous new technologies and tools through our varied projects and assignments.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure Quality by verifying, validating, and breaking software
- Write, update and maintain documentation and documentation generation systems
- Reviewing code and pull requests to ensure developers are adhering to best practices
Required Skills:
- 2 years of QA experience
- Scripting language such as Javascript, Python, Lua, Bash
- Familiarity with popular testing frameworks such as Selenium, JUnit, Mocha, Karate, PyTest, Mockito
- Load and soak testing
- Black box vs. white box testing
- Strong knowledge of testing REST APIs
- UNIX & Linux command line
- Git, Mercurial, or other VCS
- Presentation and communication skills (verbal & written)
Strongly Preferred Skills:
- Network programming (Cisco CCNA, CCIE, NPDEV, NPDESI)
- Knowledge of/experience with Swagger
- Knowledge of/experience with JIRA, particularly filing bug reports and tickets
- DevOps fundamentals including CD/automation tools, orchestration tools, virtualization tools
