Brandfolder is looking for a talented and motivated Principal Engineer with a strong perspective on system architecture to expand our footprint as an established leader in Digital Asset Management. You will enable and inspire the most recognizable brands in the world, including TripAdvisor and Slack and GettyImages clients by building a product that makes company assets accessible everywhere while surfacing strategic insights that help increase brand engagement. Our business is built on finding great people and getting out of their way while they build and improve our award-winning Software as a Service (SaaS) offering. As a Principal Engineer, you will bring a hands-on approach to our next tier of engineering challenges. You will use your experience to create scalable systems and infrastructure, and work with the team to ensure everything is built with observability in mind.

You will report to the Head of Engineering located in Denver, CO.
Responsibilities
Contribute to full SDLC; define, design, implement, test and deploy new features for our platform
Oversee critical features and work in an autonomous manner
Develop an identity and authentication framework using authentication protocols (SAML, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect) and partner-facing APIs
Guide and mentor team members regarding architecture best practices
Provide thought leadership, and influence others by solving tough problems and contributing thoughtful feedback on peer design and code reviews
Engage in troubleshooting and root cause analysis toward identifying solutions and next steps for production issues
Qualifications
Requirements
3+ years microservices or SOA-based web application development experience
10+ years of combined development and system architecture experience across multiple languages and frameworks, Python, Ruby, and Golang
Positive attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
The drive to take initiative and own high-impact projects from day one
Experience with authentication protocols
Experience with data persistence tools: Databases, Queues, Blob storage
Experience building autoscaling distributed systems
Legally eligible to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis
