As the ML Platform Engineering Manager, you will join the Big Data Platform org at Zoom and build and lead a team of Jedis in building Zoom's next-generation Machine Learning Platform. This platform will be leveraged to solve cutting-edge AI problems and manage state-of-the-art Machine Learning Models for many areas at Zoom. While building a highly-skilled team, you will be designing and building the ML Platform using top-shelf technologies and services both managed and home-built.
You will be the founding anchor of the team and have a unique opportunity to start from scratch and drive the direction of the Machine Learning Platform.
Duties and responsibilities

• Hire, build, and grow the ML Platform Engineering team
• Drive a highly efficient team leveraging Agile-Scram
• Build and execute a strategic ML Platform roadmap
• Design and architect the ML Platform end-to-end
• Leverage best-in-breed technology and tools to build Zoom's Machine Learning Platform
• Communicate and collaborate with multiple Zoom's teams to identify new capabilities for the ML Platform
• Be able to jump in and be hands-on when needed.

Required Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on engineering, plus 3+ years of management/leadership experience
• Proven experience in building and leading highly productive engineering teams
• Proficient in exploring data using SQL
• Proven experience with building ML Platforms in the past
• Proven experience and expertise in building, training, testing, deploying, and monitoring ML models
• Experience and expertise in AWS echo-system Big Data environment
• Proven experience in creating data pipelines and feature stores leveraging Big Data technologies on AWS (example: SQL, Spark, Hadoop, Snowflake, Python, etc)
• Proven experience with ML Pipeline orchestrations tools like Sagemaker, H2O, TensorFlow, MLflow, etc
• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science

Nice to have

• Experience with frameworks such as MLflow, Kubeflow, Airflow, Seldon Core, TFServing, etc.
• Experience with Open-source ML frameworks (e.g. Tensorflow, TFX, PyTorch)
• Experience with distributed training and/or GPU-based training and inference
• Experience with distributed run-time systems, their performance optimization, and improving their resilience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
