The Manager, Quality Operations plays an integral role at Checkr. At Checkr you will join our growing Operations team with a focus on compliance, which ensures the accuracy and optimization of background reports prior to completion. The Manager, Quality Operations will work cross-functionally across the entire organization to understand and drive quality initiatives. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mindset and knowledge of operational insights to develop, implement, and advise on quality initiatives. This position will report to the Sr. Manager of Operations and have strong people management and interpersonal skills and acute attention to detail. You will become part of a gritty hard-working team creating a new standard of quality in the background screening industry.

What You'll Do

Work with leadership and other cross-functional partners to scale the team, including headcount planning, workflow/ product improvements, and implementing ways to uplevel the team and the work they do

  • Develop, coach, and lead by example for a high-performing team of Associate Managers that will report to you (who have Associates reporting to them!)
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and investigate complex issues using data to creatively explore and solve problems and fix at the root cause.  Diagnose and identify areas for further quality analysis and synthesize recommendations to drive business decisions
  • Optimize processes and track results to improve internal and external compliance requirements. 
  • Ensure team optimization and performance to meet critical KPIs and OKRs
  • Represent the team as a subject matter expert in all areas of quality assurance
  • Drive and foster continued collaboration with (and have a passion for working alongside) our Product, Legal, and other Operations teams. 
  • Work and communication cross-functionally to analyze and drive projects and initiatives to completion to ensure timely resolutions 
  • Collaborate with our Compliance and DataOps teams to understand evolving trends/risk, and implement effective compliance controls, workflows and supporting systems to mitigate them
  • Foster an open environment of experimentation, analytical thinking, and precision

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of professional experience  
  • Ideally 2+ years of leading and coaching a high-performance team with a track record of building rapport and learning the nature of the team’s day-to-day work. 
  • Prior experience in risk, fraud, audits, compliance or trust & safety is a plus
  • Research-driven, critical thinking and customer service skills - experience in building and scaling programs is a plus
  • Effective and timely communicator. Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must along with an ability to provide feedback, coaching, and direction to individual contributors 
  • Highly organized and able to juggle all aspects of people and project management
  • Analytical, process, and solution-oriented - expertise manipulating and analyzing data and building models in excel, and using data to make sound business decisions
  • Proficiency in computer applications (both offline and internet-based) is required
  • Project management skills - ability to manage concurrent projects with a track record of hitting targets and deadlines
  • Ability to travel 10-15% of the time

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors.  In accordance with Colorado law, the base salary for this role if filled within Colorado is $92,650-$109,000.
