Overview:

We are currently seeking a hands-on DevOps Manager to lead Alteryx’s Operations team at our office in Broomfield, Colorado, CA. The DevOps Manager is responsible for building, managing and supporting global development, QA, and production infrastructure. This manager will be hands-on and responsible for guiding the DevOps team on day-to-day and strategic tasks. The ideal candidate for this role will have a deep understanding of cloud and colocation data center technologies, strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, excellent automation skills, and great communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead a global team of DevOps engineers in a highly agile (often changing and conflicting priorities) environment, with focus on efficient operation of daily activities while progressing on strategic initiatives
  • Build, manage, and support Alteryx’s global development and QA environments, in both private and public clouds
  • Build, manage, and support public and private cloud infrastructure
  • Work with Development teams to develop processes for CI/CD pipeline and automation infrastructure
  • Implement best practices for monitoring, troubleshooting, incident, and SLA tracking
  • Create/maintain technical and functional documentation
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years working in a DevOps organization (2+ years management experience)
  • 5+ years of Linux/Unix/Windows System Administration experience (including DNS, SMTP, TCP/IP, LDAP, firewalls, load balancing, routing/switching, monitoring, and web applications)
  • Hands on programming (Perl/Python/Ruby/Shell/Java) and automation skills
  • Strong knowledge and experience with cloud/virtualization technologies including Docker, Chef, Terraform, Packer, AWS, and VMware
  • Excellent experience with packaging, configuration management, and deployment tools
  • Proficient experience with Git, SVN, and Jenkins
  • Practical experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Analytics, and Reporting solutions
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
