The Opportunity

We are looking to hire an experienced Lead Technical Writer to join the Developer Relations team at Stream. This position is located in our Boulder office (or remote in the US) and reports to the Director of Developer Marketing.

What You Will Do

The newly-created Lead Technical Writer role will be a key component to our growth. Using your creative and technical writing skills, and innate curiosity, you will have endless opportunities to impact developers and drive awareness around Stream’s APIs. 

You will spend most of your day collaborating with current team members to explore complex topics and create technical content that expands upon those topics. You will have the opportunity to build and lead a team of technical writers to help you expand your reach and capabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Managing a team of 2-3 direct reports.
• Executing at every stage of the content lifecycle from ideation to delivery and then iteration.
• Collaborating with other team members to edit, clarify, and proofread documents written by others, and coach non-writers on improving their writing skills.
• Working on writing technical tutorials using Stream’s APIs/client SDKs.
• Building and promoting fun side projects demonstrating unique implementations of our products.
• Supplementing developer documentation with relevant sample code.

• 3-5 years of technical writing experience
• Managed a team
• Experience with web and/or mobile application development
• Ability to prioritize and manage various projects based on changing business requirements
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to inform, influence, and enforce best practices

• Experience as a software engineer, developer, or equivalent technical level

Salary (for the US only): Our salary ranges are based on national averages. We have wide ranges so we can be flexible and determine compensation based on a number of factors including the candidate's skills, level of experience, and location. The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $130,000.
