Lead Software Developer

The Lead Software Developer is a team orientated engineer that loves to teach others. Your technical skills are strong in The Force and team build you must. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Provide thought leadership, technical direction, and mentoring for some developers on the team

  • Understand and support strategic partners on existing web applications 

  • Develop solutions spanning both front-end and back-end development frameworks to drive improvements (Vue.js, Node.js, REACT, etc.)

  • Apply an in-depth understanding of industry methodologies and standards; communicating changes in software architecture and coaching others to apply this understanding to software solutions

  • Participate in an Agile development environment

  • Provide strategic insights and reviews of design solutions prior to development

  • Translate custom designs into functional, responsive, cross-browser compatible web experiences

  • Participate in code reviews to instill the highest level of code quality, ensure best practices are followed and own the continuous improvement of yourself and the codebase  

EXPERIENCE

  • 6+ years developing and maintaining modern customer-facing websites

  • Experience mentoring junior software developers on architecture, design, testing, and delivery

  • Jedi-level JavaScript abilities with a focus on frameworks (Node.js, Vue.js, REACT)

  • Expertise with standard REST and RESTful APIs (JSON packet exchange specifically)

  • Previous experience with Python, MongoDB or other non-relational DBS, and AWS Dev environments

  • SQLAlchemy, Transitions, Quart, SonarQube, Sentry, Express, and KOA experience would be out-of-this-galaxy awesome, but definitely not required 

  • Familiarity with start-ups and e-commerce web design is a plus

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY

  • Experience with model-predictive control environments is a plus

  • Skilled in Agile frameworks (SAFe, Scrum, etc.)

  • Being a true “Team First” oriented developer

  • Familiar with creating automated testing strategies and/or platforms

  • Ability to organize and manage own time, multi-task, and switch contexts based on competing priorities

  • Technical curiosity and willingness to explore beyond your experience

POSITION SCHEDULE DETAILS

  • Full-time position (Monday - Friday)

  • Weekend work, based on various project needs
