Havenly is interior design for real people. We're a funded tech startup in Denver, and we believe everyone deserves a beautiful home they love. We are looking for a talented Lead Front End Engineer to help innovate and elevate our product to create delight for all of our users. As a Lead Front End Engineer, you will play a central role in the technical architecture, development and delivery of user-facing features for Havenly’s web products. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating high-quality user experiences working closely with skilled product owners, UI/UX designers, and other engineers.

This position is based in Denver and reports directly to Havenly’s, CTO.

What You'll Do:

• Develop delightful user-facing features
• Build modular layouts, reusable code and libraries for future use
• Create and maintain automated tests to ensure quality and save time and money
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
• Help set technical standards and best practices for the front end team
• Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders

When you join us you'll bring:

• Expert in web markup, including HTML5, CSS3 and javascript
• Expert understanding of client-side scripting and javascript frameworks such as jquery and React
• Proficient understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS (we like SASS)
• Proficient understanding of javascript pre-processing and packaging frameworks such as babel and webpack
• Good understanding of PHP and some full stack experience. While you’ll be spending most of your time in the V of MVC, we’ll occasionally need help further back in the stack
• Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
• Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image. Familiarity with tools such as Gimp or Photoshop is a plus
• Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and workarounds
• Proficient understand of code versioning tools, such as Git
• Good understanding of SEO principles including web analytics and ensuring that application will adhere to them
• Excellent communication skills and experience in collaborative environments
• The desire to be continually learning about emerging technologies/industry trends
