Job Duties and Responsibilities
As part of the DISH Wireless System Integration Team, this Engineer will join the team of passionate engineers with start-up spirit to deploy and debug DISH's standalone 5G network. This team focuses on the deployment of our 5G core powered by Nokia, Oracle and Mavenir. This team is an operational team working in a live production environment, utilizing CI/CD operations in order to test, debug, and deploy solutions live. This position will contribute to ongoing process improvement reviews, identifying areas for automation and overall efficiency improvements to help increase service up-time and overall customer experience.This is a great opportunity for an individual to step on board a growing and financially strong start up.
Day-to-day job responsibilities:

  • Work with Technology Development team and vendors to develop and utilize test plans based on design solutions of all the network functions in a cloud-native environment.
  • Develop, execute and troubleshoot test plans and test scripts for testing the end to end 5G SA network..
  • Develop and utilize test plans for service configuration, service performance. Metrics using various test tools.
  • Develop and execute automation scripts and/or UE manual test cases.
  • Possess extensive hands-on experience on the test tools required for validating the IMS Core nodes and the call-flows.
  • Build and utilize lab environments in an AWS Cloud Native Network.
  • Implementation of Method of Procedure (MOP), using standard Dish Wireless operational templates for a Production rollout.
  • Create and maintain detailed lab environment documentation/drawings
  • Technical Lead with other team lead engineers to coordinate technical guidance and knowledge of the networks in various functional areas for E2E testing
  • Provides leadership to deliver final approval of functional, resiliency and performance relating testing for the end to end 5G SA network.
  • Articulate to Management outcome of test results and next steps.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, with strict deadlines, both as an individual contributor and team player.
  • Ability to execute under specified deliverables timelines.
  • Work during off hours when required.

Skills, Experience and Requirements
A successful Lead E2E Test Engineer will have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications or Electrical/Computer Engineering.
  • 6+ years of experience working within the Wireless industry on either the carrier or vendor side of the house.
  • Hands-on experience with 5G packet core network design and implementation, including how 5G differs in scope and technology from previous generations.
  • Knowledge and/or documented work experience with testing E2E data and voice network..
  • Cloud Native Architecture experience including microservices and containerization.
  • Familiar with DevOps and CI/CD methodology.
  • General understanding of standard networking protocols and components such as HTTP, DNS, SRV6, TCP/IP, ICMP and load balancing
  • Familiarity with containers and relevant technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker or Openshift.
  • Experience with Python scripting or any other scripting language (bash, Tcl)
  • Knowledge of Protocol Analysis, Wireshark, NetScout, RADCOM or other similar tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong background in developing test specifications and test strategies.
  • Self-starter, capable of working independently, innovative and eager to learn state-of-the art technologies.


Salary Range
Compensation: $87,500.00/Year - $125,000.00/Year
