As a core member of our team, the Lead of DevOps Engineering works to manage various needs, measure and continuously improve reliability of systems through automation, process improvements, and standardization. 

You will be responsible for managing an elite team of SREs building the next generation of our platform by building tools, automating away complex issues, and integrating with the latest technology. You’ll be responsible for providing guidance to the development team on how they can best utilize the technology to achieve their goals, as you know where the gaps often are between operations and developers. Key contributor in developing infrastructure to incorporate latest technology best practices and improve operational performance.

What You Will Do:

  • Evaluate current cloud infrastructures and build plans to improve on stability, security, performance and cost
  • Communicate cross functionally to determine deadlines and prioritize work for the DevOps team
  • Work with teams such as Infrastructure and Development on correct way to engineer solutions and automate manual release/build related activities utilizing DevOps principles
  • Engage with development team throughout the life cycle to help develop software for reliability and scale, ensuring new and existing environments meet requirements and conform to best practices
  • Leverage right tools to address the gaps and build IT architecture capabilities
  • Champion all non-functional requirements like high availability, scalability and fault tolerance, etc.
  • Own and manage stability of the production systems. Ensure successful execution of product roadmap that aligns with our platform
  • Provide technical guidance, career development, and mentoring to team members
  • Research and stay current in AWS, technology, associated vendor products, and their interdependencies

 

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience working with common DevOps tools and leveraging best practices 
  • 4+ years of experience as a Manager or Director for DevOps personnel
  • Hands-on experience envisioning and architecting cloud native CI/CD workflows and tools
  • Deep understanding of IaC, SaaS, PaaS and building highly available infrastructure using public cloud technologies and native services (via AWS, Terraform, Cloud Formation, etc.)
  • Experience applying and leveraging Agile principles to projects
  • Deploy and maintain CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments
  • Ability to work effectively with cross functional teams
  • Hands-on experience with operations support (e.g. job monitors, error handling, environment creation)
  • Demonstrate a high level of curiosity and keep up-to-date on the latest technologies
  • Proven ability to understand and troubleshoot complex problems under pressure
  • Strong experience in build/release management
  • Expertise in Terraforms would be a plus
  • Strong experience in AWS Cloud and related certifications
  • Experience in tools such as Snowflake, Databricks, MongoDB, PostgreSQL
  • Background in Healthcare
