As an iOS Engineer, you will:

  • Expand the Helix iOS applications. These newly minted applications leverage the best architectures and technologies and are truly state of the art.
  • Design and implement the Helix iOS SDK to integrate with the Helix Platform.
  • Analyze performance throughout the stack to optimize the user experience.
  • Develop applications from prototypes to production.
  • Work with designers, platform engineers, product managers, and scientists to construct a top-notch user experience for Helix customers and partners.
  • Establish engineering best practices for the Helix iOS code base.
  • Innovate on new ways to interact and visualize with a diverse of never-before-seen content.

Required Background:

  • 3+ years development experience in Objective-C or Swift on iOS
  • 3+ years development experience in Java, C++/C, C#, JavaScript, Python, or Ruby
  • A proven track record shipping products for the iOS App Store
  • Aesthetic instincts in both visual and interaction design
  • Experience solving performance optimization problems
  • Experience with multithreaded programming
  • Familiarity with full-stack development
  • Affinity for an engineering culture that emphasizes Agile, DevOps, and continuous delivery
  • BS+ in Computer Science recommended; coursework in genetics/bioinformatics a plus
  • Great problem-solving skills and experience with some or all of these areas: software platforms, consumer applications, genomics
