Summary

This professional coordinates across DG departments to help ensure that corporate-wide security and compliance needs are met across systems and data.This person will work with user, technical and internal audit management in the implementation of an information security strategy, designed to provide a high
level of security over data processing resources while preserving system usability. This professional must be able to develop and implement flexible security solutions that meet the needs of a hybrid government/commercial and international business environment. The individual must be a results-oriented
person who can achieve tangible improvements in the data security arena. Excellent technical and communications skills are a must.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, implement and monitor security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks, enterprise, and cloud platforms
• Identify and define system security requirements
• Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols
• Configure and troubleshoot security infrastructure devices
• Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks
• Ensure that the company knows as much as possible, as quickly as possible about security incidents
• Write comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes and propositions for further system security enhancement

Basic Requirements

• Prior IT systems administration experience
• Hands on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc
• Coding experience Python/Bash; 2+ years
• Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols
• Familiarity with web related technologies (Web applications, Web Services, Service Oriented Architectures) and of network/web related protocols
• Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure
• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Professional experience with AWS
• US Citizen
• Existing, or ability to obtain US security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

• API experience 2+ years
• Experience with network security and networking technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools
• Experience in building and maintaining security systems
• Detailed technical knowledge of operating system security
• Proven work experience as a system security engineer or information security engineer
