About the Impacts Labs team at FIS

Job description:
This role is critical to the success of the Impact Labs team. We are starting from scratch, building and investing heavily in creating, defining, and delivering the products and business models that will define the future FIS and fintech landscape. You will build and develop a team of high-performance engineers that will rapidly produce interactive prototypes for user testing and setting up our incubations to begin building our products of the future until a new team is hired up to own it long-term. Working with other Impact Labs leadership, you will create the interaction and engagement model for your team as concepts move through the innovation discovery process and into incubation, as well as innovation-as-a-service capabilities for our existing product teams, to deliver both short and long term value. You will leverage your tech expertise, team leadership and stakeholder management skills to be an agent for change in how engineering delivers on our vision.
Responsibilities:
Build and manage a team of top-tier engineers; full-stack, front/back-end, mobile, architect
Deliver unique prototypes and relevant experiences that users can intuitively engage
Develop the iterative prototyping process and engagement model along with product and design
Own the process for development, architecture and documentation for transitioning the prototype to the respective department to carry it forward
Oversee the engineering function during evaluation of concepts including technical risks, architecture, dependencies, spikes and technical aspect of incubation plan to build and launch into market
Establish a process for setting up funded venture concepts with the tools, processes, infrastructure, to hit the ground running when a venture is funded along with the process and documentation to transition to a new team as hired
Work hands-on whenever needed as we are a growing team and additional resources may not always be available
Requirements:
Several years of relevant experience in software development, system architecture, infrastructure and testing
A solid portfolio of products that you directly worked on and delivered to market
Ability to implement cloud-based, mobile responsive web and mobile applications and lay the foundation to deliver functional prototypes in weeks not months
Ability to leverage customer and business lens when making tradeoff decisions
A love for leading and developing engineering talent
Strong bias for action and willingness to get involved in every stage of the discovery process
Desire to evolve your engineering org. and hire as needed for innovation and funded ventures
High proficiency with cloud services (e.g.: Azure, AWS), modern JS frameworks (e.g.: React, Angular, NodeJS), SQL and NoSQL DBMS (e.g.: SQL Server, Postgresql, Mysql, Redis, MongoDB), Object oriented development (e.g.: Java, Node.js, or .NET/C#), native and/or hybrid mobile development (e.g.: iOS, Android, PhoneGap, ionic), REST based microservice APIs, DevOps & CI/CD
Nice to Have:
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
Prior working experience in start-up environment or corporate innovation team
Track record in companies of various sizes and structures
Experience working in highly collaborative Agile environment
Fintech experience
