Four Winds Interactive seeks a Hardware Solutions Engineer II to join the Hardware Solutions team. This position is responsible for leading the Hardware Engineering team by example. Provides hardware solutions training to departments throughout the organization. Ensures that processes, policies, and procedures are well designed, adopted, and thoroughly executed. This position is responsible for research and testing computer, display and peripheral hardware to evaluate compatibility with FWI software solutions. The Hardware Solutions Engineer II provides a critical service to the organization by certifying equipment that support end-to-end digital signage solutions for FWI customers. The Hardware Solutions Engineer II is not a management position.

The compensation package will be aligned to each candidate’s experience and qualifications. All applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Administer hardware tests on a variety of endpoint, display and peripheral devices.
  • Install, configure, and deploy FWI software application per testing requirements.
  • Document test cases, test results, hardware diagrams, and method of procedure
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of FWI customer business needs to facilitate informed hardware recommendations.
  • Work with customers to troubleshoot hardware escalations
  • Serves as a mentor to both the Hardware Solutions Engineers and Integration Technicians
  • Involved with system and solution design concepts
  • Travels when necessary for hardware escalations, scoping and other customer facing engagements
  • Specialized discipline within the department: Windows imaging, training, change management, etc.
  • Hardware solution subject matter expert. Understands hardware concepts, how to test them effectively
  • Produces engineering documents for all work completed
  • Support FWI internal departments with hardware setup/deployment for testing
  • Actively engage in Tier-4 hardware engineering escalations
  • Manage, maintain, and custom develop lab equipment environments, including physical construction, networking, and electrical.
  • Design custom signage to be used as gold standard for hardware verification.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Travel up to 25%

Qualifications

Requirements for Success:

  • A Demonstrated ability to build, test and design and recommend Hardware specifications and ensure integration across physical hardware, firmware, drivers, BIOS and Operating Systems including Windows and Android.
  • Ability to create automation scripts for image deployment, standardization and optimization
  • Highly analytical mindset with exceptional problem-solving skills
  • Installation, setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of Windows operating system.
  • Basic AV understanding
  • Understanding of networking concepts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with hardware and Software Troubleshooting
  • Experience working with array of external client resources from Project Managers, IT resources, and other departments including customers’ senior management teams

Helpful for Success:

  • Technical Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • Installation, setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of Android, iOS, Brightsign and SoC devices
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Deployment Toolkit
  • Windows engineering experience
  • SCCM
