Responsibilities    

• Engage in the whole lifecycle of services—from inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement
• Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health
• Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation, and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity
• Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems
• Provide timely support to our 24x7 operations teams including on-call support
• Natural curiosity and ability to continually learn about our evolving complex ground system

Basic Qualifications

• Ability to troubleshoot operational issues across multiple complex systems and propose and implement new solutions
• Understanding of software design, development and troubleshooting
• Experience in one or more of the following: C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Perl or Ruby
• Ability to support applications running in a LINUX and/or UNIX compute environment
• Bachelors degree with relevant experience in satellite ground systems and/or operations Engineering
• Ability to apply for and hold a Secret National Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with high performance computing and resource scheduling
• Experience with log aggregation tools (Elastic Stack, Splunk)
• Experience with a multiple security enclave system
• 5+ years experience preferred in operations and operations support
• Experience with AWS and supporting services in the cloud
• Understanding of Service Oriented and Microservice Architectures
• Experience supporting services deployed through a CI/CD pipeline
