The time is right for bringing data science and new technology to the outdoor industry. We are building a data analytics and geospatial processing platform that is going to change how we engage with outdoor activities.  By forging stronger connections between people and nature we can improve health and wellness, environmental empathy, and public land conservation.
 

Position Responsibilities

Own the processing, storage and retrieval of GIS and numerical data for incorporation into web and mobile platforms. Assist in the development of strategic and technology roadmaps.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Python, Flask

• Geospatial Information Services (GIS), QGIS, Esri ArcGIS stack

• Knowledge of Open GIS Consortium standards and specifications

• API development and data driven RESTful web services

• Indexing and storage of data in Elasticsearch

• Experience developing and deploying in Amazon Web Services (AWS)

• Interested in the outdoors and the outdoors revolution

• Interpersonal skills, taking accountability for objectives and working with minimal oversight

Additional Qualifications and Skills

• Experience with 3D mapping technology (Cesium, Google Earth, etc)

• Knowledge of web fundamentals like HTML, JavaScript, and CSS

• Familiarity with data science and analytics

• Development tool chains (Bitbucket, Jenkins, etc)

Education and Training Required

• 4 year college (Bachelor’s Degree) or higher. Computer Science degree preferred.

Minimum Years of Experience

• 4+ years of real world experience developing proven applications and systems.
