Full Stack Software Engineer

Tortuga is looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer to build a system that supports deployment, robot status, configuration, software unit testing, cloud services, and our other “glue” functions holding together our novel robotic harvesting platform. This includes managing software rollout and integration with our worldwide harvesting robot fleet, integrating best practices back with the software team, with space to grow into a variety of other critical roles. An added bonus is familiarity with AWS services to help manage the backend side of this critical function of our software.

What you’ll do
Create best practices for robot, build infrastructure, fleet tracking and software security
Assist with cloud-based configuration of robot fleets and further the ability to deploy firmware, software, and other updates automatically with the operations team
Design code testing and deployment paradigms including flexible code rollout
Work directly with the software team to ensure upstream code quality
Up to 10% travel, with potential for international travel
What we’re looking for
Required: 3-5 years experience in a similar role, ideally while managing cloud resources, with IOT or robots preferred
Required: B.S. Computer Science or similar degree
Required: Demonstrably strong Python, Java, JavaScript, or other programming language skills
Strongly Preferred: Strong experience with major cloud providers, preferably AWS (including AWS IOT, EC2, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, Lambda, Cloudwatch)
Familiarity and experience with architectural design
Experience with scalability, security and performance engineering for web services
Startup experience a major plus

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of our salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Tortuga’s total compensation package for employees.
Denver area base salary range: $100,000 - $140,000 per year.
This position is based in Denver, with the ability to work from home 2 - 3 days a week, based on business needs (100% remote is not available). Relocation assistance is available for out-of-state candidates.
