The Opportunity:
Gloo is looking for a Full-Stack Javascript Engineer to join our Thryve team in creating a world-class church communication platform. Employees in this role will work with a team of software professionals to develop and maintain software and its related features with a focus on clarity and maintainability. Candidates should be prepared to hit the ground running on active projects while also learning, adopting, and helping to enhance established patterns, best practices, and standards.
The Team:
Thryve is the first smart texting platform for churches, faith-based non profits, and recovery centers. Powered by natural language processing, Thryve allows organizations to build more life-changing relationships without complicated tech getting in the way. Our team is passionate about building technology that solves church, ministry, and recovery leaders’ problems and makes their lives easier. We are a small and fairly new team, so you may be asked to wear multiple hats at times. The culture of our team is important to us. What You’ll Be Doing:
- Working alongside your product ownership and development teams to identify requirements needed to plan & test complex product features
- Coordinate and work with other developers, business and system analysts, and UX designers.
- Documents every facet of the software project as a reference for further maintenance and upgrades.
- Provides solutions based on previous experience.
- Build and maintain web applications by contributing directly to front end and back end code as a core contributor.
- Participate in problem solving discussions and research regarding project architecture and feature implementation.
- Continually learn and develop web application development skills independently, via collaboration, and via mentorship.
- Creating test documentation, procedures, and guidelines
- Contributing to test coverage analysis for determining test development priority
What We're Looking For:
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience building web based products in a commercial market
- Has intermediate to advanced skills in debugging software.
- Is competent in all or some stages of the systems development life cycle – analysis, design, development and testing, implementation, documentation, and evaluation.
- Can demonstrate the initiative and method for solving different problems, and propose effective solutions for those problems.
- Can revise software code to make it more efficient and be able to detect bugs in the code.
- Can create and write simple to moderately complex tests.
- Expertise in leveraging git tools and collaboration workflows.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Redux, and Node.
- Experience leveraging command line tools as part of a development workflow.
- Basic knowledge of software containerization patterns and tools such as Docker.
- Basic knowledge of relational and schemaless database design and integration.

Compensation: $85,000-$135,000
