We are currently looking for a Full Stack Engineer in Denver, Colorado to join us on our mission of transforming the industry.

This engineer will join the very fast-paced start-up environment of Origin, where we are looking to enter and transform one of the most exciting, fulfilling, and fun economies in the world. This person has the critical responsibility of ensuring that Locals and Users have the best experience on our web-based platform as possible. This will include the further expansion and improvement of the back-end of our platform and the development of new features to offer to our user base. In this mission, this motivated, driven and experienced Engineer will be responsible for prioritizing and supervising all key initiatives on front-end design and ensuring consistency between our brand and platform.

About You

• You will help build out our Booking and Payments Platform which touches all aspects of Origin’s business, allowing travelers and newcomers to schedule and book Adventures with Locals.

• Owning features end to end, using best judgment to manage priorities.

• Deliver code that sets the standard for quality and maintainability.

• Research and lead adoption of new systems/technologies. 

• Mentor junior team members, review code, unblock others, and level-up the team.

• Define best coding practices across the stack.

• Responsible for design decisions, managing potential issues, trade-offs and risks.

Your Experience and Skills

• Working on a consumer web app at scale and deep knowledge of web app frameworks, object-oriented languages and modern testing frameworks.

• Experience with relational databases, MySQL and NoSQL data stores.

• Building/maintaining APIs.

• Experienced with Ruby and large, high-availability production Ruby-on-Rails environments.

• Exposure to front-end development with JavaScript, styling, React, Redux and Webpack.

• Experience with at least one of the common payment services (such as Stripe, PayPal, etc.) is required.

• Experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) establishing clear service level boundaries.

• Experience building systems that meet high standards regarding personal privacy and information security is strongly desired.
