NHT is seeking a Frontend Web Developer (mid-to-senior level) who wants to solve interesting, meaningful problems with an intelligent, hard-working team! This position will require creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills to help execute on our migration plan – we're migrating incrementally from an existing AngularJS frontend to React, and we’re completely rewriting our existing C#/.NET API as Python microservices.
Strong candidates will have expertise in JavaScript, experience with a wide variety of technologies on the front and back-end, an interest in learning new technologies and methodologies, and prior technical experience building web apps.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the incremental UI migration
- Contribute to the API complete rewrite effort
- Evaluate various technologies and make informed decisions about which solutions to use
- Collaborate with on-site software engineers, and potentially remote engineers
- Communicate clearly and effectively with the CTO, Director of Engineering, as well as the Product and Engineering teams around technical concepts, requirements and timeline estimations
- Support the existing web app during the migration
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in JavaScript
- Experience with a wide variety of technologies on the front and back-end (we’re moving towards React, Postgres, and Flask, and have used Angular, C#, ASP.NET, and MongoDB)
- An interest in learning new technologies and methodologies
- Experience with build pipeline tools, CI/CD tools, automated testing, and version control
- Experience building scalable, data-driven web apps
- Experience working with graphing libraries
- Understanding of database concepts (relational and non-relational)
- Interest in learning data science and statistics as we are an analytics-driven company powered by custom machine-learning algorithms
- Prior technical experience building web apps
- Ability and flexibility to sometimes wear multiple hats -- we are a small, agile startup
