Front End Engineer
Role Purpose
In this role we’re looking for a web developer with a focus and appreciation for aesthetics and design. Our ideal candidate would be enthusiastic about working in a BrightSpot CMS and would also strive to seek out opportunities for technological and process improvements. This is an entry-level role that could open the door for a tech career in a number of avenues including Advanced CMS Architecture, iPhone/Android/Television App Development, Platform Development or DevOps.
Responsibilities
- Can turn designs and UI mock-ups into functional websites/components and maintain existing websites/components
- An unquenching eagerness to learn the skills and technologies outlined in this role, as well as an eagerness to grow into other areas
- Ability to hit tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and an ability to navigate change in an ever-changing organization
- Excellent written and verbal communication/intrapersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team, and an eagerness to share learnings with the team and other co-workers
Basic Qualifications
• Demonstrated capabilities writing HTML, SASS or LESS, and JavaScript

• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• UI/UX/Web design experience
• An understanding of how Content Management Systems work
• A working understanding of HTML templating
• Experience developing with source control (Git/GitHub)
• A proven understanding of responsive web design
• Experience with cross browser testing and development
• A passion for building great user experiences
• Experience with Handlebars/Mustache templates
• BrightSpot experience
• Java experience
• React or React Native experience
• iOS or Android experience
• Experience collaborating with product managers
