Demoflow is looking for an Engineering Manager. Reporting to the Co-Founder & CTO, as our senior engineering team member, you will provide project management, implement development processes, and inspire our current and future team members.

HOW YOU'LL DO THIS

• Reporting to the Co-Founder & CTO, you will provide project management and leadership for a team of talented engineers by identifying opportunities for improving quality, reliability, processes, throughput, and product performance.
• Assist with building a team of extraordinary engineers and retain top talent by continually leveraging their skills and guiding them in their career development.
• Run weekly 1x1’s with individual team members, daily standups, and overall progress and health of the team and the team’s delivery.
• Manage and spearhead the sprint process through leading technical discussions with team members with the goal of agreeing on product scope and delivery schedules.
• Implement and refine development processes that support timely delivery as we continue to scale our products and offerings.
• Keep technical debt manageable by reinforcing and evolving our engineering culture, which values code reviews, high test coverage, and effective processes and documentation.
• Spend 10 - 15% of your time coding while also overseeing our code review.

THE RIGHT STUFF

• 6+ years as individual contributor software engineer / programmer and 3+ years as formal manager of engineers
• Experience growing a team at a Series A or B startup, enterprise level organization, or a rapidly scaling organization 
• Experience managing a team of 5+ Software Engineers 
• Player / coach focused leader to who excels at creating high-performing, highly-engaged teams
• Strong desire to build and lead a team in a dynamic, scaling startup environment with the understanding that being deep in the weeds coding will take a backseat 
• Ability to effectively manage and communicate to a group of individuals to bring the team together towards a common goal
• Deep understanding of software development & web technologies including ReactJS, Ruby on Rails, and AWS
• Experience building a SaaS product

OUR TECH STACK

• Demoflow runs on a robust stack which is containerized with Docker and deployed to Fargate clusters on AWS with Lambda functions for serverless processing. On the front end, we leverage React, Graphql, Apollo, and Electron for our web and desktop applications. On the back end, we use Ruby on Rails, Redis, Sidekiq, against a Postgres database.

Compensation: $130 - 150k base, commensurate with experience.
