About you:

You love leading Engineering teams and delivering winning products. You have hands-on technical expertise in building systems technologies for large-scale data. You are first a leader, then a manager, and an engineer. You are motivated by solving challenging problems with simple, elegant solutions and feel great satisfaction from helping others. How you will make an impact:

In this role, you will lead the team that is to ensure a highly scalable core platform to support our global enterprise customer base, which is doubling every year. On a daily basis, Iterable ingests billions of user profiles and events. Our workflows & messaging services then trigger billions of emails, mobile push & SMS every month. Our software handles terabytes of data on a daily basis and we have invested heavily in making our systems efficient. As a Manager in the team, you are a key leader in the company. As a technical leader, you are responsible for growing and enabling the team to innovate and deliver enterprise-grade components.

The group is responsible for the scalability of these core services:

  • Messaging (billions of emails, mobile push, SMS sent per month)
  • Workflows (billions of user flows per month)

In this role you’ll get to:

  • Build, manage, lead, and motivate multiple high-performance engineering teams
  • Evolve our process to improve our delivery
  • Establish goals and help drive them
  • Help establish a culture of quality, execution, improvement, and growth
  • Work with Customer Success on understanding customer issues and resolution
  • Work on roadmap development alongside Product Management and the VPE 
  • Coach, mentor and provide real-time, meaningful, sensitive, and constructive feedback to direct reports.
  • Grow the team and align project assignments with career development goals and company vision.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineering leaders on setting technical direction 
  • Set team-level and engineering best practices

We are looking for people who have:

  • Experience managing teams working on large-scale SaaS products
  • Experience in the software industry, including significant time as an individual contributor
  • Strong knowledge of data infrastructure technologies such as Kafka, Pulsar, RabbitMQ
  • Passion for learning and always improving yourself and the teams around you
  • Experience in recruiting, building, and managing engineering teams 
  • Industry experience of building and delivering enterprise-grade software for large-scale data.
  • Technical expertise in data modeling, distributed systems technologies, and cloud deployment (provisioning, multi-tenancy, frameworks, and tools for system monitoring, logging, etc).
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies and short release cycles.

Bonus points

  • Experience building an enterprise SaaS product
  • Experience in the email marketing and/or marketing automation industries
  • Open-source software contributions
  • Demonstrated thought-leadership through conference talks, blog posts, etc

We’ve rethought  traditional workplace planning and are looking to strengthen belonging, innovation, productivity, and happiness whether it’s in an office, from home, or a hybrid of the two. As such, we've moved to a single geographical compensation band for all of our employees (the San Francisco Bay Area market for the US, London for the UK). 

For Colorado-based employment: The minimum salary for this position is $182,000/year. The compensation package includes equity, plus a range of medical, dental, vision, financial and other benefits. Additionally, perks such as daily paid lunches and generous stipends for health & fitness and learning & development, among others, are included.

Location

Our Denver office sits in the Central Business District, just North of the Cap Hill area. Our building has a Starbucks and a Wells Fargo, and we are very close to some great coffee, lunch and happy hour spots! We are just one block away from RTD and Civic Center Station.
