Engineering Manager - Hardware
We are excited to add an Engineering Manager who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment to lead our hardware teams in the development of a wide range of autonomous systems.
Responsibilities:
- Build, manage, and develop world-class engineers
- Guide and mentor engineers and project managers
- Create and communicate the team vision and mission
- Set objectives and key results, and help the team measure progress against them
- Continuously improve team performance through reviews, weekly meetings, retrospectives, 1 on 1s & feedback
- Build the team & culture through planning activities, establishing norms, setting expectations, making hire recommendations, defining roles, identifying gaps, planning team capacity, and managing resources
Key skills required
- A minimum of 5 years of experience managing a team of engineering development professionals
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, Computer, Mathematics, or a related field plus five years of progressively responsible experience
Ideal background:
- Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- A deep understanding of hardware development challenges and processes and a track record of shipping on time
