Engineer II - Payload Systems Analyst
Join Ball Aerospace's Payload Systems Engineering team as Payload Systems Analyst! In this role you will perform modelling and simulation with a focus on analyzing and decomposing of Electro-Optical (EO) Payload requirements, plan and develop verification algorithms and deliver state-of-the-art space payloads.
What You'll Do:
- Analyze a variety of remote sensing payloads, under the general supervision of an experienced performance systems engineer; analysis results will guide and/or decompose system level requirements into subsystem and/or component requirements.
- Perform synthesis of payload system performance for compliance and verification of requirements.
- Perform analyses for the development of error trees and Technical Performance Measures (TPMs).
- Coordinate with Assembly Integration & Test (AI&T) engineers, to implement test configurations, verification approaches, and analysis plans necessary for payload verification.
- Develop system concepts and interface definitions.
- Generate engineering documents including System Engineering Reports, presentations, analysis plans and procedures.
- Work closely with hardware engineers to develop state-of-the-art system designs and analyze performance of hardware demonstrations.
- As a team member, you will contribute to completion of milestones within specific projects and provide solutions to a variety of technical problems.
- Prepare and give presentations to peers/management/customers may be required.
- New business support in the form of proposal writing and/or cost/schedule estimation, may be required.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
What You'll Need:
- BS degree or higher in Engineering or related technical field plus 5 or more years related experience is required.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- A current, active TS/SCI security clearance is required.
- Experience with analysis of EO payload systems, dissection of complex problems, and identification of key performance drivers.
- Experienced Excel and MATLAB programming skills.
- Strong analytic modeling capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to document analysis results and write reports.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal relationship skills to work effectively and collaboratively with technicians, peers, senior-level engineers, and customers.

Compensation & Benefits:
- HIRING SALARY RANGE: $104,500 - $129,500 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
