Electronics Technician

| Greater Denver Area
This role will involve electrical and mechanical development of new devices and robotic systems. The Electronics Technician will report to the Chief Systems Engineer and collaborate with the technical team to design, develop, test and build prototype and production-quality products and test equipment. Your work output will be useful and valuable throughout the customer lifecycle, from initial demonstration to pilot tests to scaled deployments in the world's biggest transportation hubs.
This position requires exceptional electronics skills – you will be responsible for developing and supporting equipment that helps the team deliver safe, error-free, and effective autonomous vehicle systems for the world's largest companies.

Responsibilities

  • Build prototype electronic systems with minimal guidance
  • Develop and build hardware test fixtures
  • Assemble and test wire harnesses
  • Assemble and test electronic enclosures
  • Work with engineering to refine electronic system designs (harnesses, PCBs, enclosures, etc.)
  • Develop and document assembly and test procedures
  • Debug wire harnesses, electronic assemblies, PCBs, and installed systems
  • Support field testing, both locally and at remote customer sites
  • Periodic safety driving for driverless system

Required qualifications

  • Harness and electronic assembly experience
  • Production assembly experience
  • PCB soldering and rework experience
  • Ability to read, understand, and update/generate wire connection lists and wire harness diagrams
  • Ability to read and understand PCB layouts
  • Ability to perform electronic troubleshooting for PCBs, wire harnesses, and data busses (CAN, RS-232, etc.)
  • Proficiency with multimeters and oscilloscopes
  • Willingness and ability to obtain a Class A commercial driver's license (CDL)
  • Obvious curiosity about and interest in autonomous vehicle technology
  • Unwavering focus on safety and helping to explore and implement system improvements
  • Contagious energy and enthusiasm
  • Willingness to travel (up to 25%)

Bonus qualifications

  • Class A CDL holder
  • Personal, professional or academic exposure to autonomous vehicles
  • Schematic capture experience
  • Mechanical CAD experience (especially SolidWorks)
  • MS Visio familiarity
  • Automotive or trucking industry experience
  • Test software development background (Python preferred)
