 Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to interpret and work to engineering drawings

  • Ability to identify electronic components (Reference Designators, Component Orientation and Polarity, Component Type, etc.)

  • Have good manual dexterity to handle small parts

  • Be familiar with small tools for hand held assembly

  • Possess strong problem solving and communication abilities

  • Ability to use magnification aids (Microscopes, Eye Loupes, etc.)

  • Be knowledgeable/have experience using metrology tools (Calipers, Multimeters, DMMs, etc.)

  • Use knowledge of different tools, equipment, and techniques to assemble Spaceflight Hardware according to required specification

  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and written instructions from engineers to assemble parts or products

  • Work on small precision assemblies, work with small tools underneath a microscope, handle delicate parts

  • Take ownership and maintain documentation for complex, high-reliability assemblies

  • Be able to identify non-conforming parts or workmanship during the assembly process

  • Perform standard assembly procedures, rework, and repair on manufactured equipment and products

  • Work with engineers to troubleshoot and solve technical issues

  • Be willing to cross train in multiple areas of specialty

  • Provide input for continuous process improvement, develop more refined ways of assembling parts and products

  Required Qualifications:

  • MUST have experience performing Precision Electrical Assembly

  • Preferred experience assembling spaceflight PWAs, Wiring Harnessing, and

  • Preferred IPC J-STD-001/FS (Space Addendum) Certification

  • Preferred IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification

  • Experience and Certifications must be documented, please do not apply if you do not have this experience.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of program personnel and management is required.

 Qualifications desired:

  • 2 – 5 years’ experience working in aerospace production environment.

  • Demonstrate a good working knowledge of Microsoft operating system.

Working Conditions:

This job operates in a professional laboratory environment in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard laboratory and manufacturing equipment such as soldering stations, microscopes, and various hand-held tools.

The position requires some light physical effort. This would require the ability to lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities are required by this job which includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
