We are currently seeking an PCB Designer to join our growing team. This position will be responsible for the schematic, layout and bring-up of digital boards for our various products.   Additionally, this role will be a key interface with the various suppliers and board assembly shops, and set the best practices for development and delivery for digital board design and manufacturing.  The PCB Designer must thrive in a fast-paced start-up culture, and embody our core values of Fearless Innovation, Dedication to the Mission, Relentless Learning, and Attitude of Service. Responsibilities:

  • Circuit design, modeling, prototyping, verification, and validation
  • PCB schematic design, layout, and bring-up
  • Generation of system BOM
  • Management of fabrication vendors and electronic development partners
  • Design for Manufacturing
  • Provide hands-on support to solve complex technical problems

 

Requirements:

  • BSEE
  • 5 years electrical board design experience
  • High speed digital designs
  • Knowledge of IPC Standards for PCB Interconnect designs
  • Experience in Power, Analog, Digital and mixed signal design
  • Ability to pass and maintain a clear background check and drug screening
  • Must currently possess or be able to obtain US security clearance

 

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledgeable of hardware design best practices and how to implement them
  • Experience designing boards using processors and SOCs
  • Expert knowledge and use of electronic CAD tool for PCB layout and development
  • Electrical stress and derating, such as voltage, current, power, inrush current, duty cycles, FPGA usage vs capacity, timing analysis, power interrupts, power supply efficiency, connector pin currents/derating, EMC considerations
  • Demonstrate ability to perform circuit modeling and simulation
  • Librarian experience creating parts is a plus
  • Experience with EMI/EMC requirement for PCB design
  • Design for Manufacturing (DFM) experience, with an eye towards minimizing hand-off time to fabrication and assembly shops
  • Management of fabrication vendors and electronic development partners
  • Knowledge of component selection for military specifications, including extreme environmental conditions
  • Prior experience with defense and aerospace contracting industry
