WHO WE ARE...


As the Due Diligence Underwriter at Maxwell, you enjoy digging in to ensure loan files are accurate and compliant with regulatory standards. You understand what is needed to properly investigate inconsistencies in loan files to protect against fraud, negligence, errors, and omissions through the loan manufacturing process. To ensure a smooth transition from pre-approval to funding, you enjoy cross-functional collaboration with our Fulfillment Services and Capital Markets teams. 

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING...

  • Review Mortgage loan files to ensure accuracy of information and verify presence of all required documents
  • Performing due diligence review of the residential mortgage loan application and documentation as submitted to ensure loans meet specific investor/product guidelines and AUS requirements
  • Analyze borrower’s credit profile, collateral, and capacity to repay the proposed mortgage obligation including accurately calculating income and ensuring the borrower’s ability to repay
  • Properly calculate and analyze loan-to-value and debt-to-income ratios.
  • Analyze purchase contracts, title commitments, and other loan pertinent documentation.
  • Enter review results into the company’s proprietary software
  • Executing risk analysis and making decisions regarding deficiencies identified during the review process and recommend resolution to deficiency
  • Stay current on all agency, state, and multiple investor guidelines
  • Participate in ongoing training as the industry evolves to ensure proper compliance standards and processes are met
  • Manage time efficiently and prioritize workloads to meet the minimum daily production goals plus clearing QA feedback and perform within department audit standards

IDEALLY YOU'LL HAVE...

  • Extensive and recent/current experience in underwriting, preferably with prior experience in Quality Control and/or Due Diligence experience at a mortgage lending institution.
  • Familiarity with best practices for post-close quality control on new and seasoned originated mortgages
  • Encompass experience is required as well as high technical aptitude since we'll be transitioning into a new QC platform
  • Proficiency of Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac guidelines, QM/ATR

Compensation Range: $80,000-$95,000
