SurveyGizmo is looking for a season and proven software engineering leader.  You’ll be responsible for managing all aspects of software engineering SurveyGizmo platform.  Implement and enforce best practices and coding standards, ensure delivery of key project on time and with high quality, and provide technical leadership for a local team of talented and collaborative software developers.  You’ll have a good balance of technical depth and managerial skills to support our broad customer base, rapid growth, and operational scale at which we’re currently operating. Your technical experience with full stack development, including experience in designing and executing a flexible architecture, developing and contributing to devops automation and ensuring production reliability will be critical. You will ensure we have the right team structure and development processes to ensure consistent practices, all the while providing technical leadership on key technology projects.


Responsibilities:

  • Drive consistent engineering practices and enforce standards and best practices
  • Drive new technology for SurveyGizmo platform
  • Measure and optimize Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to ensure on time delivery of key projects
  • Provide overall management and mentorship full-stack engineering team
  • Recruit and retain top notch talent and coach and mentor team members
  • Improve code quality and support a culture of strong engineering practices, delivery and quality
  • Develop, measure, and improve engineering KPIs (velocity, quality, complexity, test coverage, etc)
  • Develop, test, and contribute improvements to application, especially as proof of concepts to set design patterns
  • Help to triage and resolve escalated issues
  • Track, coordinate, and help prioritize work within the software development lifecycle
  • Seek out and advocate for reduction of technical debt, refactoring opportunities, performance optimizations, re-architecting opportunities
  • Continue to improve systems, processes and documentation for the team

Skills & Qualifications

  • 7+ years’ experience building and leading full stack engineering teams
  • 5+ years’ experience developing and maintaining a modern, high demand SaaS application
  • Experience with modern frameworks, technology, coding practices
  • Provide ability to manage engineering team to meet key milestones while achieving quality, scalability, security, redundancy and usability requirements.
  • Strong application architecture and best practices experience
  • Experience with test driven development, unit testing, automated testing, etc.
  • Experience with AWS is a plus
  • Experience with diverse coding languages including Php and JS
  • Relational & non-relational databases experience is a plus
  • Exceptional organization skills
  • Experience leading QA efforts a programs a plus
  • Ability to translate product requirements into technical requirements
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • BS or MS in computer science or related technical field
  • Team player with demonstrated communication skills. Comfortable leading meetings and presenting in front of groups of colleagues, partners or customers.
  • Proven ability to thrive under tight deadlines while successfully juggling a multitude of projects simultaneously.
  • Extreme level of energy, highly self-motivated, and a passion for success.
  • Proven experience running successful Agile processes is required.
  • Effective listener that can get to the root of customer problems/needs.
