About the team

The Analytics group within DAT is focused on leveraging modern software development technologies to give our customers the actionable and insightful information they need to run their businesses.  Our teams have access to the largest database of shipment transaction data in North America, and are leveraging it and other data sources to deliver groundbreaking products in the logistics industry.

This is a rapidly growing group made up of 3 teams, and will encompass 20+ engineers by the end of the year.  We collaborate relentlessly, building trusted relationships with our product, UX, and engineering partners across the company.  Our stack is Angular, TypeScript, Node.js, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS. You may not have expertise in all of our languages and frameworks, but we hope you have thoughtful opinions, and a deep desire for learning.

About the role

We are seeking a Director of Engineering to lead and grow our 3 Analytics teams based in Denver, CO.  You will play a central role driving the development of new products that are core to the DAT strategy, and will empower our customers with the tools they need to run their businesses.  As the leader of this group, you’ll build relationships, coach, mentor, and set objectives for your teams.  You’ll partner with Product Management to lead a group of smart and passionate engineers and managers towards the creation of a next generation product line with a huge impact on our industry.

In this role, your team will consist of both engineering managers as well as individual contributors, and you will report directly to the VP of Technology.

Who you are

• 10+ years of software development experience
• A minimum of 5+ years as a people manager, including leading multiple teams
• Experience leading full-stack development, setting direction, road-mapping, and carefully prioritizing technical debt and new ideas
• Well developed technical expertise gained by building highly reliable, cloud-based systems powering delightful consumer web and mobile products
• You want to know how things work and aren't afraid to dig in to find out. You can talk about how it all works and why, with any audience
• You pause, listen and collaborate well cross-functionally, and with geographically distributed teams
• You have a gift for providing clarity from complexity
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other related field (or comparable experience)

 (Colorado only) In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the minimum salary for this role is $180,000.00 + benefits. The maximum compensation for this role can vary significantly depending on your job-related skills and experience.
