Director of Engineering
We are looking for strong technical leader to join as Director of Engineering. As our company scales, we are focused on scaling and securing our applications. In this role, you will lead multiple managers and teams across one of our most impactful engineering verticals. You’ll demonstrate your technical expertise and commitment to talent development daily, inspiring team members to achieve their goals by coaching them through challenges and complexity. As a cross-functional partner to senior leaders around the company, you’ll dive into the business context and become an expert on our application, infrastructure, and systems. You will participate in strategic planning and translate the big picture into a clear technical roadmap and goals to set your teams up to succeed.
What you will do:
- Manage 4+ teams in one of our most impactful verticals
- Work with your full-stack teams to set estimates on key features and execute on delivery of them
- Lead your team’s SDLC to reduce time to market and improve product quality and ensure product success
- Coach managers and build their leadership capabilities through continuous feedback and mentorship
- Identify and prioritize key engineering and product initiatives
- Create OKRs and lead teams to drive business value
- Hire, engage, and retain talented engineering team members
- Build new processes and frameworks to help move the engineering department forward
- Partner with product and other engineering verticals to execute your technical roadmap

Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in software engineering
- 5+ years managing engineers across multiple teams
- Experience delivering customer facing features
- Experience scaling software engineering teams
- Experience with front end technology frameworks and delivering great UI/UX products
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Experience building scalable systems
- Familiarity with at least some of our technical stack (Ruby, React, Node, PostgreSQL)
Base Compensation
- The base salary range for this role starts at $190,000 - $220,000/year plus bonus and stock options.
- Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including prior experience, expertise & may vary from the amount above
