The system engineer works closely with support and engineering teams to run and maintain a highly available and geographically redundant infrastructure.  They manage and follow SOC/HITRUST controls for the consistent and audited operation of the infrastructure supporting the Absencesoft commercial SaaS platform for large enterprise customers. 

Job Expectations

• Create and maintain high-quality AWS infrastructure environments
• Respond to system alerts and incidents and participate in on-call rotation
• Build and maintain windows and linux instances
• Build and maintain aws accounts and networking with Terraform
• Execute change management tickets including data import and export scripts
• Maintain mongo, RDS, elastic search, and redis clusters
• Ensure highly available and DR able application deployments
• Manage user accounts and maintain SOC/HITRUST controls and security
• Manage centralized logging and aggregated log analysis and alerts
• Maintain AMI library and refresh quarterly
• Maintain certificate library and manage renewals ontime

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 1+ year SaaS / small company experience
• 3+ years plus Windows / Linux on AWS
• Experience with Puppet or Ansible
• Experience with cloud networking and DNS
• Experience with AWS serverless products preferred
• Experience with security in PCI or HITRUST preferred 
• Experience managing datastores (mongo, postgres, redis, elastic search) preferred
• Entrepreneurial in thinking, outlook, and creative problem-solving
• Strong work ethic and ability to multitask on parallel projects and efforts
