About the Team VIZIO advertising technology solutions is looking for a cutting-edge DevOps Engineer to help build and support our functional systems and infrastructure, our Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) automation, and ensure high quality implementation practices in our ad tech stack. The position can be held in one of several offices (San Francisco, Dallas, Denver, Irvine, New York), and is responsible for system design, architecture, and infrastructure decisions for our advertising technology stack. We are a close-knit team, focusing on challenging problems that make a difference to our business. We concentrate on high-impact, high-value development, and in this role, you'll be building out massively scaling systems and processes that will have huge impact on our advertising business. What You Will Do

  • Build and maintain our solutions for deployment and automation to ensure the highest quality delivery of our offering
  • Automate our operational processes with a keen eye on security and compliance
  • Work with other engineers to ensure high availability and quality of production software
  • Create, manage, and enforce processes to optimize for high quality software delivery
  • Ensure the integrity of our systems and implemented designs, and make improvements where needed
  • Help establish best practices for DevOps in our engineering organization
  • Drive CI/CD adoption and utilization to create a frictionless development process
  • Drive infrastructure roadmaps, production application support plans
  • Establish and help grow a systems and DevOps team for a highly scalable and always on event driven platform

About You

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or related field.
  • Experienced building release pipelines
  • Strong experience in Linux-based infrastructures, administration, and AWS
  • Have spent time working with database technology such as SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, Druid, ElasticSearch, Cassandra, Mongo, etc.
  • Experience with open-source implementations, cloud environments, as well as bare-metal
  • Understanding of Infrastructure-as-code, and infrastructure automation
  • You've worked with an Infrastructure as Code language to deploy to cloud environments, e.g., Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Clear and effective communication skills, and can rally a team around the recommendations and directions you're suggesting
  • Experience with Continuous Integration / Continuous Development (CI/CD)
  • Experience writing code in Java, Python, Bash, or a preferred language
  • Thirst to keep current in new industry trends, IT ops, and best practices, and can help guide us on which we should implement and why
  • You are a hard-working team player, with a "no task is too small" attitude
  • Appreciates the challenge of translating highly technical product offerings and concepts for a wide variety of audiences, elucidating the "why", not just the "what"
  • Have a proven ability to self-motivate and be independent, as well as capable of operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Experience working with Container technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, etc, and can explain their value.
  • Experience supporting production environments with metrics, monitoring, and dashboards
  • Understanding of Application turning, performance monitoring, and log streaming
