Job Description
Unbridled is looking for a web-focused DevOps Engineer who has a solid foundation in IT and is passionate about designing, implementing, and improving systems and hosting to deliver highly performing, secure, scalable, and reliable platforms that enable our Interactive Ops team to deliver websites to our internal and external customers. This person will act as the liaison between Interactive Ops and IT, focusing most of their time on improving our web development process, but also collaborating with IT on larger projects and initiatives. Candidate must be well-organized, resourceful, flexible, have the ability to multitask, and have a passion for “figuring things out”. Candidate must have strong communication skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships with internal and external clients. Willingness to take ownership and work independently under tight deadlines is a must.
Successful candidates will have the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related discipline
- 2+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Systems Administration, or related role
- Possess the ability to resolve complex technical problems; serve as the primary technical resource for Unbridled hosted infrastructure and Web Developers (Interactive Ops)
- Strong understanding of web technologies including DNS, Email, Apache and WordPress
- Intermediate knowledge of IT systems and processes including IP networks, routing, storage and systems administration
- Professional business communication skills – written, spoken, and presentation
- Capable of working both as part of a team as well as individually
What you would be doing at Unbridled:
- Maintain web hosting environment for Unbridled’s internal and public-facing websites
- Monitor uptime and performance; resolve any downtime or performance issues; help develop performance metrics and reporting
- Monitor system logs, hosting provider notifications and other log sources to identify potential issues before they impact sites or services
- Secure web systems utilizing best practices, monitoring, and access control
- Establish and test disaster recovery processes and procedures, including monitoring & validating system and site backups
- Monitor systems for potential intrusions or denial of service attacks, and report potential issues to Director of IT
- Perform regular WordPress site maintenance including systemic updating of WP core files, plugins, and themes via a MainWP interface
- Assist with managing client cPanel accounts, databases, subdomains, FTP accounts, & email
- Assist with managing domain registrations & renewals, DNS records, and CDN configurations
- Assist with managing LastPass password access and WordPress plugin theme licenses
- Implement and improve overall website security posture, including permissions, updates, along with regular scanning and maintenance
- Maintain system documentation
